Malaysia

October 1999

Malaysia was a non planned trip when I came back from Indonesia. My friend Laurent had to go back to Europe, and I just did not want to leave Asia for cold Europe. I came back to Singaport for one or two more days, bought my ticket and took the train to Kuala Lumpur. The night train was quite fun and the next morning, I was in KL main station at 5:00 in the morning, lloking for a place to stay. I found that quite easily and at about 10:00 am, I was walking in the street of KL (as everybody calls it).

KL is a really interesting town. The old colonial district has a strange mix of very colonial British touch (with large straight avenues, and a large central park), but the largest building have a distinctive moslem style... although they were built by the British. At the same time it's a very modern town.
