Changsu - May 2004

Houses were big mansions, that got divided after the communist revolution. Many families live in very small rooms. The house left is only one room, with a small courtyard next to the canal.

Many of these houses are also small shops. Picture left is a shop selling all sorts of thinks made out of iron... with the shop owner on the right.

People are always very surprised to see foreigners in thoses districts... and quite friendly.

The pride of Changsu is it's pagoda from the Song period.
